Ilham Aliyev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov familiarized themselves with the exhibition "Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh"

On July 17, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the exhibition "Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh" at the Creative Center in Shusha restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this building, listed as an architectural monument of national significance, once housed a Caravanserai built in the 1880s by the famous Shusha merchant Aga Gahraman Mirsiyab oglu. During the restoration work carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation since 2022, the building was restored to its original appearance. The Creative Center was put into use on May 10, 2023.
The exhibition features rare photographs, documents, and video materials reflecting the great leader Heydar Aliyev's contributions to the socio-economic, political, and cultural development of Karabakh. It also displays photographs capturing the national leader's trips to Karabakh, his meetings, and various events.
It should be noted that 1969 marked a turning point in the history of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. Even under difficult historical conditions, Heydar Aliyev managed to implement large-scale reforms in all spheres of life in the region. The commissioning of the Agdam-Khankendi railway in 1979 was not only a strategic step by the great leader in terms of closer economic integration of Karabakh with other regions of the country but also a great historical achievement.
