IDEA conducted regular tree planting campaigns in Sabirabad and Jalilabad
In Sabirabad and Jalilabad districts, another series of tree planting events were held as part of the mass tree planting campaign "Yaşıl marafon" ("Green Marathon"), conducted on the initiative of the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva.
As reported by BAKU.WS, with the participation of IDEA volunteers, 1,250 trees - cypresses, oriental plane trees, and melias - were planted in the village of Mamishlar in Sabirabad district. Also, during the event held in the village of Kazimabad in Jalilabad district, more than 600 cypresses were planted.
It is noted that the "Nationwide Greening Marathon" ("Green Marathon") is implemented by IDEA together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and aims to increase green areas, popularize the tradition of planting trees, protect the environment, enrich the biodiversity of the country's flora, and raise public awareness about the importance of preserving green spaces.
Within the framework of the "Green Marathon", approximately 2 million trees are planned to be planted across the country during the autumn season of 2025 and the spring season of 2026.
