President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated via video link in the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, held in Yerevan. The agenda of the event included the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, and the head of state used this platform to deliver principled messages to Western leaders.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this is stated in a video report prepared by the YouTube channel Haber Global.

In his speech, Ilham Aliyev recalled that on May 1, Azerbaijan decided to terminate all relations with the European Parliament (EP).

"Unfortunately, double standards have today become a kind of stereotypical working method for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The territorial integrity of Azerbaijan has the same value as the territorial integrity of any other country. And in this matter, double standards are unacceptable," the Azerbaijani leader was quoted as saying in the video report.

The report also states that Ilham Aliyev emphasized the significant steps taken within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process and pointed out that the EP, instead of supporting this process, is attempting to sabotage it by adopting anti-Azerbaijani resolutions.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the European Commission for its position regarding the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. But unfortunately, not all European institutions demonstrate the same approach. One of them is the EP, and the other is PACE," the President of Azerbaijan noted.
