On August 8 in Washington, as part of the meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) Ilham Aliyev with the President of the United States of America (USA) Donald Trump and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia (RA) Nikol Pashinyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan initialed the draft "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia".

They also signed a joint appeal from the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia to the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office (on the termination of the OSCE Minsk process, the completion of the activities of the personal representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on the conflict at the Minsk Conference negotiations and the High-Level Planning Group).
