Foreign Minister: Azerbaijan, thanks to its independent foreign policy, thwarted the West's plans

Azerbaijan, thanks to its independent foreign policy and support from friendly countries, primarily Turkey, thwarted the West's plans.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, this was stated by Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in an interview with the Turkish agency Anadolu.
He noted that the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - the USA, France, and Russia - did not take any practical steps to resolve the Karabakh problem.
"No pressure was exerted on Armenia to end the occupation, and the same approach was demonstrated towards both the occupier and the occupied party. After the problem was resolved in the second Karabakh war, Western countries that had shown no activity for 30 years began to put pressure on Azerbaijan. They tried to supposedly punish Azerbaijan for ensuring its territorial integrity. France and Emmanuel Macron personally are at the forefront of these steps. They wanted to punish Azerbaijan by holding discussions in the UN Security Council, and tried to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan in the EU," emphasized J. Bayramov.
According to him, these attempts proved futile.
"In the US, during the Democratic administration, Armenia was supported, and for 30 years no pressure was exerted on the occupier. When Azerbaijan secured its territorial integrity, they tried to punish and put pressure on us. But thanks to our independent foreign policy and support from friendly countries, primarily brotherly Turkey, the West's plans failed," concluded the head of the foreign policy department.
