First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Research Institute of Pediatrics
On August 26, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, her daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the K.Y. Farajova Scientific Research Institute (SRI) of Pediatrics.
As reported by BAKU.WS, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev informed First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva about the institute's activities.
It was noted that the Scientific Research Institute of Pediatrics has been serving an important and noble cause - the protection of children's health - for over a century.
This medical institution, which currently functions as a scientific-methodological center, was established in 1925 on the basis of a 200-bed children's hospital, and in 1927 it was reorganized and became the Institute for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood. Here, along with providing preventive and curative care to children, professional medical personnel are trained in the field of pediatrics, scientific research is conducted, and the existing medical education system is being improved. The Institute has clinical departments with 255 beds, scientific and numerous paraclinical divisions. The 60-bed neonatal resuscitation and intensive care unit serves as a national center.
During the visit, the First Vice-President and her daughters familiarized themselves with the conditions created at the institute. Additionally, equipment — artificial lung ventilation devices — was donated to the Institute to improve its future operations.
