Farid Gaibov elected Chairman of COP10

Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gaibov elected as Chairman of the 10th Session of the Conference of Parties to the UNESCO International Convention Against Doping in Sport (COP10).
As Oxu.Az reports, COP10 began its work today at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
Farid Gaibov spoke during the first part of the event.
Elections for the COP10 chairperson were held during the session. The Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports won by a majority of votes against his Senegalese colleague Khadi Diene Gaye.
Recall that Minister Farid Gaibov was elected as Chairman of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS) in 2022, and in 2023 as Vice-Chairman of the 9th Session of the Conference of Parties to the International Convention Against Doping in Sport (COP9).
