Executive Director: Housing prices should be affordable

Most families in the world spend more than 30% of their income on housing.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, this was stated by the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Anaclaudia Rossbach during a discussion on the topic "Global Housing Crisis - Ways Out and Action Plan," held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

According to her, 2 billion people in the world face problems with drinking water.

"The housing crisis is worsening around the world, affecting 2 billion people. We cannot solve the problem simply by constructing buildings. Housing prices must be affordable. Political decisions can take steps toward overcoming the problem. In this context, WUF13 will help us combat the crisis," she noted.
