Examination of the Zod deposit: Armenia is not carrying out any mining or exploitation activities
The Azerbaijani delegation conducted an inspection of the Zod gold mine territory - it was established that Armenia is not currently conducting any mining or exploitation activities there.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, earlier the Azerbaijani side had concerns about Armenia's possible continuation of mining activities at this deposit.
The inspection of the territory showed that Armenia is not conducting any work at the deposit, and the doubts that arose earlier have been resolved.
Recall that on November 28, the 12th meeting of the delimitation commissions of Azerbaijan and Armenia was held in Gabala, chaired by Deputy Prime Ministers Shahin Mustafayev and Mher Grigoryan. The parties agreed to organize an inspection of the territory of the Zod gold deposit.
It is known that during the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijan's Kalbajar district, the Zod deposit was exploited by the Armenian side, while since Soviet times all drilling operations were carried out from the territory of Armenia.
The deposit area is characterized by difficult climatic conditions. Azerbaijan is currently creating transport and logistics infrastructure there, and after the completion of these works, the deposit will be operated by AzerGold CJSC.
