Euronews published an article about the visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Germany
The Euronews TV channel website has published an article about the official visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Germany and his meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the article states that Baku and Berlin signed a Joint Declaration on the Strategic Agenda of Bilateral Partnership, covering energy, transport, and trade.
The TV channel notes that Germany has become the second European country after Italy to conclude a similar agreement with Azerbaijan.
The German Chancellor, according to the publication, called the increase of Azerbaijani gas supplies to 2 billion cubic meters per year as early as next year a step toward reducing dependence on Moscow in terms of energy resources.
Germany became one of the new buyers of Azerbaijani gas after deliveries to the country began in 2024 via the Southern Gas Corridor and connected pipelines, Euronews recalls.
The article also emphasizes the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor.
