Emilia Sais: Urban management needs leaders who can make decisions in challenging conditions

Today there is a need to increase the number of leaders capable of making decisions on urban development in complex conditions.

As Report informs, this was stated by the Secretary General of the international organization "United Cities and Local Governments" (UCLG) Emilia Saiz during WUF13 in Baku.

According to her, it is extremely important to go beyond individual leadership.

"In my professional experience, individual leadership is critically important, however it must be supported by collective leadership. In this collective leadership, besides people who think about the work, there is a lack of those who actually carry it out," she said.

Saiz noted that public service workers around the world are becoming an important part of this discussion.

"I believe that this dialogue will enhance the ability of future leaders to make decisions in complex conditions," she added.
