Director General of ICESCO congratulates President of Azerbaijan

Director-General of ICESCO Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:

"Your Excellency.

On behalf of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - ICESCO and personally from myself, I have the honor to convey to Your Excellency and the people of Azerbaijan sincere congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of November 8 - the fifth anniversary of Victory Day.

This historic event marks not only the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, but also the triumph of justice, the beginning of a new era of peace, development and restoration in the South Caucasus. The liberation of territories has paved the way for an important process of restoration, especially in the field of cultural heritage, which embodies the identity and spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people and the entire Islamic world.

In this regard, I recall with satisfaction that in recent years, ICESCO has sent two international technical missions to the liberated territories, which assessed their condition on site and provided recommendations for the protection and restoration of cultural heritage damaged during the occupation. We consider these efforts extremely important as a model for protecting cultural heritage not only in Azerbaijan but also in post-conflict regions around the world.

During each visit to Karabakh, I have observed with great admiration the rapid changes taking place there. The restoration of towns and villages, cultural and religious monuments, educational institutions, and the revival of public life are clear evidence of this.

These significant achievements testify to your visionary leadership and determination to ensure a more prosperous and stable future for Azerbaijan.

Your Excellency, I once again cordially congratulate you on this glorious Victory Day celebration and wish the Republic of Azerbaijan lasting peace, progress and prosperity under your wise leadership.
