Deputy Minister of Italy: Azerbaijan is successfully hosting WUF13

Azerbaijan successfully organized the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to APA-Economics, this was stated by Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Security of Italy Claudio Barbaro, speaking at the Ministerial Meeting on the New Urban Agenda, organized within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.

He thanked the government of Azerbaijan for organizing the forum at a high level.

According to the deputy minister, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level is one of the main priorities of sustainable development.

Claudio Barbaro noted that the integration of national and local voluntary reviews is of great importance in terms of aligning policies at the local, national, and global levels.

"Within the framework of the midterm review of the New Urban Agenda, we must strengthen multilevel governance, accelerate the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals, and ensure coordination between policies," he emphasized.
