Deputy: Allied relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are entering a new stage

"The holding of a bilateral meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev within the framework of the visit, as well as the third session of the Supreme Interstate Council of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, once again demonstrates the strategic nature of our relations. Established in 2023, this council has already become an important institutional mechanism for deepening the strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries. One of the important aspects of the visit is also the signing of new documents covering various spheres, as well as the expected signing by the heads of state of the 'Treaty on Eternal Friendship between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.' This document can become an important step in terms of further strengthening the existing high-level relations between the two countries in legal and political aspects. The signing of approximately 220 documents between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to date also testifies to the fact that our ties possess a sufficiently broad and solid contractual and legal framework," the parliamentarian noted.

The deputy added that the development of Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations is important not only in terms of bilateral cooperation but also in terms of strengthening the entire Turkic world:

"The political will and mutual trust of the two countries create serious opportunities for further expansion of cooperation in the economy, transport, energy, investment sphere, and other areas. This visit of President Ilham Aliyev also holds historical significance in terms of the transition of the Azerbaijani-Uzbek alliance to a new stage and building future cooperation on an even stronger foundation."
