Czechia expects to purchase 2 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Azerbaijan
The Czech Republic expects to purchase up to 2 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Azerbaijan.
As reported by Czech media, this was stated by the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček.
Deliveries may begin in 2028-2029.
According to the minister, the agreement has not yet been signed, but the contract has already been agreed upon and is at an advanced stage of preparation.
It should be noted that earlier, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, during negotiations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Gabala, stated that Prague is counting on concluding a long-term contract for the purchase of Azerbaijani gas.
Currently, Azerbaijan is the largest oil supplier to the Czech Republic, with a share of 42%.
