CIS leaders to meet in Saint Petersburg
The traditional pre-New Year informal CIS summit in Russian Saint Petersburg will be held this year on December 21-22.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to TASS, the dates of the event were announced by Yuri Ushakov, aide to the President of the Russian Federation, during a briefing.
"On December 21-22 in Saint Petersburg, the traditional informal meeting of CIS leaders - the pre-New Year one - will be held," the diplomat announced. "And, in addition to this informal meeting, a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be conducted."
He added that this meeting has been planned in advance.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been holding annual informal pre-New Year meetings of CIS leaders since at least 2017. Since 2018, they have been taking place in Saint Petersburg.
