Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz called the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev

On December 4, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Friedrich Merz called the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAG, Friedrich Merz first congratulated on the successes achieved in advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Chancellor emphasized that Germany supports stability in the region.

Expressing gratitude for the congratulations, the head of our state noted that Azerbaijan is the author of regional peace initiatives.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that our country will continue its efforts to ensure and strengthen sustainable peace in the region.

During the telephone conversation, views were exchanged on the prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz invited the head of our state to visit Germany. President Ilham Aliyev gladly accepted the invitation and, in turn, invited the German Chancellor to visit Azerbaijan. Friedrich Merz also gladly accepted the invitation.
