Britain thanked Azerbaijan for its contribution to the fight against climate change at COP29

Great Britain thanked Azerbaijan for its contribution to uniting the world community in the fight against climate change at COP29.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in a publication by the British embassy in our country on the social network X.

"As Azerbaijan hands over the chairmanship baton at COP to Brazil, the United Kingdom expresses gratitude to the Azerbaijani presidency of COP29 in Baku for managing to unite the global community to advance climate action over the past year. From Baku to Belem and onwards to London, we continue to stimulate global ambitions to keep global warming within 1.5 degrees," the statement from the British diplomatic mission reads.

Recall that today in Brazilian Belem, the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) has begun. Last year, COP29 was held in Azerbaijan.
