Belgium expressed solidarity with Azerbaijan in connection with the drone attack from Iran on Nakhchivan
On March 31, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium Maxime Prévot called the head of Azerbaijan's foreign policy department Jeyhun Bayramov.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the phone conversation, the current security situation in the Middle East, bilateral Azerbaijani-Belgian relations, and prospects for cooperation between our countries within the framework of the European Union were discussed.
The parties expressed deep concern over the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East and emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.
M. Prévot expressed solidarity with Azerbaijan in connection with the drone attack on Nakhchivan from the territory of Iran. In addition, he thanked Baku for creating conditions for the evacuation of Belgian citizens from Iran.
The ministers also exchanged views on the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. J. Bayramov informed his interlocutor about the measures taken by our country to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the region.
The parties emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue, political consultations, mutual visits, and high-level contacts for the further development of Azerbaijani-Belgian cooperation.
