Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense: Iran launched 4 UAVs toward Nakhchivan, one was shot down
Iran launched four unmanned aerial vehicles toward the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which was recorded by technical means of the Azerbaijani army. One of the UAVs was shot down.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
"Four unmanned aerial vehicles were launched by the armed forces of Iran toward the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to carry out attacks. One of the drones was destroyed by units of the Azerbaijani army, while the others targeted civilian infrastructure, including a secondary school building — directly during school hours. Fortunately, the UAV that targeted the school did not reach its target, fell near the building, and exploded," the statement said.
The defense ministry also called Iran's denial of the attack on Nakhchivan unacceptable. "The statement by the General Staff of the Iranian armed forces about allegedly respecting the sovereignty of other states and denying involvement in the drone attacks can in no way be considered acceptable," the Ministry of Defense emphasized.
The statement emphasizes that the Azerbaijani side expects an official apology from Iran. "Given all the facts, we expect that the armed forces of Iran will stop denying the obvious facts, issue an official apology, and hold those responsible accountable," the statement said.
