Azerbaijan resumed work of its embassy in Syria after 13-year break

Azerbaijan has resumed its embassy operations in Damascus after a 13-year break.
This was reported by Baku.ws with reference to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Chargé d'Affaires of the embassy has already arrived in Damascus and assumed his duties.
"This important step marks the beginning of a qualitatively new stage of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria, creating opportunities for developing partnership in political, economic, cultural and other spheres," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
The ministry added that Azerbaijan, guided by the principles of international law, supports the establishment of lasting peace and stability in Syria. During this transitional period for the country, the Azerbaijani embassy will closely cooperate with Syria's interim government, contributing to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
