The railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding within the framework of the 83rd meeting of the CIS Railway Transport Council.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the document was signed by the head of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) Rovshan Rustamov, General Director - Chairman of the Board of JSC "Russian Railways" Oleg Belozerov, and General Director of Iranian Railways Jabbar Ali Zakeri.

The document provides for the coordination of tariff approaches, formation of a unified comprehensive tariff, launch of regular block trains, and simplification of transportation procedures. Its signing will be an important step in developing long-term trilateral cooperation and increasing the efficiency of the western direction of the "North-South" route.

Implementation of these mechanisms will create a more predictable, faster, and cost-effective logistics chain between Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran.
