Azerbaijan extradited a wanted citizen of Uzbekistan
Azerbaijan extradited Abdullo Shadiev, a citizen of Uzbekistan who was on the international wanted list and accused of embezzlement on an especially large scale.
This was reported to BAKU.WS by the General Prosecutor's Office.
Shadiev was detained in December 2025 at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. The court imposed a preventive measure of arrest on him.
The General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan granted the request of the Uzbek side for the extradition of the accused on the basis of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters of 2002.
The day before, Shadiev was handed over to the competent authorities of Uzbekistan under the escort of a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
