Attorney General's Office: Prosecutor did not request 7 years of imprisonment for the person who killed his nephew
The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan denied statements by a number of media outlets that the prosecutor had requested 7 years of imprisonment for Babek Ibadov, accused of murdering his nephew (brother's son) in Baku.
As reported by the Prosecutor General's Office, the state prosecutor in his speech at the trial on this criminal case asked the court to sentence B. Ibadov to 17 years of imprisonment, taking into account the degree of public danger of the act he is accused of, the totality of evidence collected in the case, and the requirements of criminal legislation.
"In this regard, we inform that the said information does not correspond to reality. We urge media representatives and the public to refer only to official sources and not to disseminate unverified and false information," the agency noted.
