A verdict has been handed down in Azerbaijan for those accused of treason
A verdict has been handed down in Azerbaijan in a criminal case of treason.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the verdict was announced during a trial held at the Baku Military Court presided over by Judge Bilal Mammadov.
According to the verdict, the defendants Ilkin Ganbarov and Vusal Agayev were sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment. Tural Aliyev and Mamed Sharifov received 17 years and 6 months of imprisonment each.
It should be noted that Ilkin Ganbarov and Vusal Agayev, accused of treason in the form of espionage by providing assistance to representatives of a foreign special services agency, were detained and brought under investigation as a result of measures taken by the State Security Service.
They were charged under Article 274 (treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
