On June 7, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif congratulated President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on the sacred Gurban Bayram, conveying wishes of progress and prosperity to our state.
The head of our state, in turn, congratulated the Prime Minister of Pakistan and his people on Gurban Bayram, wishing happiness, development and prosperity to the people of Pakistan.
Recalling with satisfaction the bilateral meetings held a few days ago in Lachin, as well as the trilateral meetings in the Azerbaijan-Turkey-Pakistan format and the discussions held during these meetings, the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan noted that all this gave an even greater impetus to the development of relations between our countries.
During the telephone conversation, views were exchanged on the prospects for bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in economic, trade, energy, industrial, military, scientific, educational, tourism and other spheres.
The significance of the Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which will be held this summer in the Azerbaijani city of Khankendi, was touched upon, and hope was expressed that this event would contribute to the development of relations between member states.
During the telephone conversation, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
