A one-on-one meeting between Ilham Aliyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was held in Astana

On October 21, a one-on-one meeting was held in Astana between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

As reported by AZERTAG, welcoming Ilham Aliyev, Kazakhstan's Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said:

- Dear Ilham Heydar oglu, it is a great honor and pleasure for me to welcome you on an official state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is a very important event in terms of further strengthening the strategic partnership and allied relations between our countries. Without any exaggeration, we can confidently say that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are not only friendly states but also brotherly peoples, nations. Therefore, it is a high priority for us - I mean the development of multifaceted cooperation with your country. Moreover, Azerbaijan under your strong leadership has noticeably increased its positions, strengthened its authority in the international arena, and plays a very important role as a regional power in your part of the world. For us, the development of economic and trade-economic cooperation, not to mention the development of political partnership, is an urgent, very important task.

We share the same feelings for the brotherly people of Kazakhstan, and we also rejoice in the success of the brotherly country under your leadership in both socio-economic development and strengthening of international positions.

Today, Kazakhstan demonstrates a high level of development. The country ensures socio-political stability, and the economy is self-sufficient. We observe with great interest the reforms that you are implementing, and fully support your course towards modernizing the country and strengthening its potential.

Regarding our bilateral relations, you noted their strategic, allied nature. We aim to strengthen cooperation in all areas.

Today, as part of our negotiations, as well as the meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, we will once again go through the extensive agenda and, naturally, outline further steps to strengthen our partnership.
