In Azerbaijan, the State Program for 2026-2030 on the development of agricultural production and processing, fisheries, and aquaculture has been approved.

As Report informs, the corresponding decree was signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers must, within three months, based on proposals from the Ministry of Agriculture, submit proposals for improving the regulatory framework in the field of agricultural production and processing.

The Ministry of Agriculture must, within three months, approve the list of territorial units where the establishment of farms for the production of wheat, cotton, and livestock products is planned, and submit the information to the President of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Economy must, within three months, submit to the President proposals on providing interest subsidies through the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund OJSC on manat-denominated loans obtained by farms from credit organizations, as well as on subsidizing the cost of investment projects.

The ministry must also take measures to subsidize, at the expense of the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund OJSC, interest rates on manat-denominated loans obtained from 2027 for a period of 5 years from resident banks and non-bank credit organizations by farms and suppliers that use modern technologies, have a feed base, and keep breeding animals or fish. The cost of implemented investment projects is also subject to subsidization.

In addition, the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency must ensure a one-time identification of all cattle and small ruminants in livestock farms across the country at the expense of the state budget, as well as the entry of relevant data into the "Automated Food Safety" information system and their transfer to the "Electronic Agriculture" system.

The State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan must take the necessary measures to improve the water supply of the designated farms.

Monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of measures envisioned by the state program will be carried out by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications, commissioned by the Cabinet of Ministers.
