On April 21, 51 families (224 people), temporarily housed in various parts of the republic and the capital, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings, are returning to the restored villages of Saryjaly in Aghdam district and Ballydja in Khojaly district.

As reported by BAKU.WS, today another group of former internally displaced persons has been sent to the liberated and restored villages of Saryjaly in Aghdam district and Ballydja in Khojaly district.

At this stage, 34 families (141 people) are returning to Saryjaly, and 21 families (83 people) to Ballydja. All of them were temporarily housed in dormitories, sanatoriums, pioneer camps, and administrative buildings in the capital and various regions of the country.

The departure will take place on April 21 from the Garadagh district of Baku.

As a result of the victory of the valiant Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the President, the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the internally displaced persons were given the opportunity to voluntarily, safely and with dignity return to their native lands after 30 years. The residents of Aghdam and Khojaly districts returning today expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for comprehensive state support and care. They also expressed appreciation to the brave Azerbaijani army that liberated our lands from occupation, to the heroic soldiers and officers, and wished peace to the souls of the martyrs.

It should be noted that currently about 40,000 people live in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. Along with former internally displaced persons who have been resettled there, there are also those who are working on the implementation of reconstruction projects in this region, as well as those fulfilling their official duties in local authorities, branches of various state institutions, in the fields of healthcare, education, culture and tourism, in industrial and energy enterprises.
