President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order on additional measures to accelerate the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

According to the document, a total of 258 million manats will be allocated from the state budget of Azerbaijan and the budget of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for the implementation of relevant measures in 2026-2027.

The funds will be directed toward energy development, road and residential building repairs, construction of educational institutions, public transport renewal, and modernization of heating infrastructure.

In particular, 66 million manats will be allocated to Azerenergy OJSC for the continuation of construction and installation works at the Tivin hydroelectric power station with a capacity of 15.6 MW in the Ordubad district.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan AR is allocated 70 million manats for the major repair of roads with a total length of 420 km connecting 26 settlements.

Another 25 million manats will be allocated to the Ministry of Science and Education for the construction of a 1,000-bed dormitory for students of Nakhchivan State University.

15 million manats will be directed toward the major repair of 92 residential buildings comprising 2,164 apartments, as well as the facades of 70 buildings comprising 3,087 apartments in Nakhchivan, Sharur, Julfa, Ordubad, and Shahbuz.

20 million manats are allocated for the construction of five new preschool institutions with a total capacity of 640 places. Kindergartens will be built in Nakhchivan, Ordubad, Sharur, Julfa, and Kangarli district.

In addition, 53 million manats will be allocated to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport at the initial stage for the renewal of the intercity public transport fleet.

Another 9 million manats are allocated for the major repair of 45 heating boiler houses serving 5,335 apartments in 122 residential buildings in Nakhchivan, Sharur, Julfa, and Ordubad.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, the Ministries of Finance and Economy, as well as the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have been tasked with resolving the issues arising from the order.
