When the state terminates social support: a complete list of reasons

Recently in Azerbaijan, a question often arises among the population: can targeted social assistance be terminated if a family member receives paid education?

This question raises another one: in what situations is the payment of targeted social assistance terminated in general?

The State Social Protection Fund responded to the corresponding request from Oxu.Az.

The message notes that targeted state social assistance is not terminated due to a family member receiving paid education.

Factors that can actually lead to the termination of targeted social assistance are listed as follows:

- when a family is gifted a house or apartment (if this house or apartment is not the only housing owned or used by the family);

- when a family is gifted a vehicle;

- in case of death of a family representative;

- if the amount of social assistance is not withdrawn from the card account by the family for two consecutive months;

- when other circumstances arise that may lead to the suspension of social assistance or a change in its amount;

- if incorrect or incomplete information is found to have been provided about circumstances that may affect the assignment of social assistance or a change in its amount (about family composition, property, and income).
