Changes to pension benefits legislation for mothers with multiple children proposed in Azerbaijan.

According to BAKU.WS, Milli Majlis deputy Ali Masimli stated that according to current legislation, only mothers with 5 or more children have the right to retire 5 years earlier.

However, the deputy emphasized the need to change these norms. According to him, families with 5 children are rare in the country, especially among young families, therefore it is advisable to expand the coverage of the benefit:

"I propose to amend the legislation so that representatives of families with three or more children could retire 5 years earlier".

It should be noted that similar practices are already implemented in a number of countries. In France, Poland and Hungary, mothers with multiple children are provided with additional pension privileges and tax benefits. In Russian legislation, women with 3 or more children can reduce their retirement age. Such a step can contribute to strengthening the institution of family and increasing the birth rate in Azerbaijan.
