Average salary in Azerbaijan exceeded 1,100 manats in 2025

The average monthly nominal wage of employees in Azerbaijan in 2025, according to preliminary data, amounted to 1,102.9 manats, which is 9.3% more compared to 2024.

As reported by the State Statistics Committee, the highest average monthly nominal wages were observed in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communication, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as in transport and warehousing.

The number of employees in Azerbaijan as of January 1, 2026 amounted to 1,808.0 thousand people, of which 865.8 thousand were employed in the public sector of the economy, and 942.2 thousand in the non-governmental sector.

At the same time, 18.6% of employees were engaged in trade and repair of vehicles, 18.1% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.5% in the provision of medical and social services to the population, 6.6% in construction, 6.2% in public administration and defense, social security, 4.4% in transport and warehousing, 3.9% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.4% in financial and insurance activities, and 15.1% in other sectors of the economy.
