Scientists have warned that weak to moderate magnetic storms may occur on Earth within the next 24 hours.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced on the Telegram channel of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Siberian Branch.

According to the information, the geomagnetic situation will be unstable over the next 24 hours, with weak and moderate magnetic storms forecast.

According to available data, the increase in geomagnetic activity is caused by solar wind speeds exceeding normal levels.

Currently, this indicator is approximately 500 km/s, whereas under normal conditions it ranges between 300–400 km/s.

According to astronomers, the magnetic storm that began on March 20 became the most powerful event recorded since late January 2026. On the night of March 21, this storm exceeded the G3 level.

It is noted that the magnetic storm occurred as a result of a powerful solar flare and plasma ejection.
