The representative of the company that carried out the illegal demolition of the house commented on the incident

Earlier, footage spread of the demolition by Melissa Group construction company of a residential building located on Abdulvagab Salamzade Street in the Yasamal district of Baku - in an area known as Alatava. The demolition began despite the fact that residents were still inside the building.

The owner of the house, Habib Hajiyev, said that the company has been trying to evict his family for three years. According to him, the work was carried out by force because they did not agree to leave the housing voluntarily. In addition, the man claims that he was not offered official compensation for the house.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Xəzər TV, a representative of the FEBA housing cooperative, which is part of Melissa Group, Arzuman Murtuzaev, said that the demolition occurred by mistake, without instructions from the company's management.

"Our employee did not know that someone was living in the house. There were 55 houses in this area, 54 of which we demolished with the consent of their owners. We offered Habib Hajiyev 651,000 manats - an amount significantly exceeding the market value. He demands about 2 million manats," emphasized A. Murtuzaev.

It should be noted that the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of Baku conducted an inspection and found that the demolition was carried out without permission. The work was suspended, and an act was drawn up jointly with the relevant structures, as they were carried out in violation of the requirements of current legislation.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the detention of the construction company's foreman and the excavator operator. A criminal case has been initiated on this fact, and an investigation is underway.
