In Baku, fruits cost as much as gold - 200 manats per kilogram

Cherry plum, strawberries, watermelon, sweet cherries, apricots, peaches - these seasonal fruits can be found today at the capital's markets.

As reported by Baku.ws, their prices are significantly higher than seasonal ones. A kilogram of cherry plum costs 200-250 manats, sweet cherries - 100-120 manats, apricots - 50-60 manats, peaches - 40-50 manats.

Buyers note that off-season fruits are not only expensive but also lack natural taste.

Sellers hold the opposite opinion. According to them, there is a steady demand for off-season fruits. Most of these products are imported from abroad.

Experts explain the high prices by additional costs for transportation and storage of such products.
