IMPORTANT warning from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan about a new type of fraud

Head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Police Lieutenant Colonel Elshad Hajiyev warned about a new type of fraud spreading through social networks.

As reported by Baku.ws, fraudsters are using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to convert text to speech.

The essence of the scheme is that AI reproduces text in a voice that closely resembles the voice of a specific person. This allows criminals to fake voice messages and commit fraudulent actions.

"Cases where images and voices of well-known personalities are used are especially dangerous. It is important to remain vigilant and be aware of such risks," emphasized the Ministry of Internal Affairs representative.

Elshad Hajiyev noted that the main way to combat such crimes is to raise public awareness and exercise caution.
