Turkish stand-up comedian Deniz Göktaş detained
Turkish stand-up comedian Deniz Göktaş, who found himself in the spotlight after the show "Dead Sea" (Ölü Dəniz), was detained upon returning to Turkey from a trip abroad.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Haber Global, the incident occurred at Istanbul Airport while Deniz Göktaş was going through passport control.
According to available information, the investigation launched by the General Prosecutor's Office is being conducted under the charge of "publicly insulting religious values shared by a segment of society."
It is noted that the investigation was prompted by fragments of the stand-up show and statements made during it that spread on social media. The legal proceedings are continuing under the supervision of the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office.
