Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva is on a visit to Oman

At the invitation of the government of the Sultanate of Oman, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva is on a visit to this country.

As reported by BAKU.WS, Leyla Aliyeva was met at Muscat International Airport by the advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Oman, Azzan al Busaidi.

As part of the visit, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met with the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Sultanate of Oman, Salim bin Mohammed al Mahruqi.

The meeting emphasized the high level of friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Azerbaijan and Oman, and discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation, especially in the field of tourism and cultural heritage.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality, Leyla Aliyeva emphasized that such meetings make a significant contribution to the development of Azerbaijani-Omani relations.

Leyla Aliyeva provided detailed information about Azerbaijan's rich historical and cultural heritage, tourism potential, including opportunities in medical tourism, ecotourism, cultural and winter tourism.

Speaking about the protection and restoration of Azerbaijan's historical monuments and projects implemented within UNESCO, the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation touched upon the importance of exchanging experience with Oman in these areas.

During the conversation, opinions were exchanged on issues of increasing the flow of tourists between the two countries, establishing direct links between tourism institutions and the private sector, as well as organizing joint projects and presentations.

Salim bin Mohammed al Mahruqi expressed interest in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of exchanging experience in the field of cultural heritage protection and sustainable tourism development. The Minister noted that Azerbaijan is an attractive destination for Omani tourists, and positively assessed the intensification of mutual visits and contacts between official delegations.

At the meeting, an agreement was reached to further strengthen ties between the peoples through joint participation in future tourism exhibitions, organization of media and promotional trips, as well as cultural events.
