President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 28 received credentials from newly appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of a number of foreign states, including Azerbaijan.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The credentials were presented to the head of state by the new Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Rashad Mammadov.

During the ceremony, it was noted that thanks to the political will of the leaders of the two countries, relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have reached the level of strategic partnership and alliance. The volume of mutual trade has increased by 40%, the number of joint ventures has reached nearly 450, and the volume of freight transportation has doubled.

The goal of bringing the joint investment portfolio of the two countries to 10 billion dollars in the near term was also reaffirmed.

It was emphasized that the upcoming high-level meetings will give a new impetus to the development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani cooperation.

It should be noted that Mirziyoyev also received credentials from the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of Italy, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Algeria, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan.
