The head of state participated in the opening of the business and economics faculty building of Karabakh University

On December 23, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the new building of the Faculty of Business and Economics of Karabakh University in the city of Khankendi.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the head of state was informed about the conditions created in the building.

It was noted that the Faculty of Business and Economics of Karabakh University is one of the main structural divisions consistently developing toward forming a modern academic environment. Currently, 20 professors and teachers, along with administrative and technical staff, work at the faculty. In total, 505 undergraduate students study here across 7 specialties - economics, finance, accounting, management, state and municipal administration, international trade and logistics, and tourism management.

The main activities of the faculty include developing new academic content, applying modern teaching methods, developing practical skills, innovative management, and result-oriented scientific research.

The educational building has 40 classrooms, computer laboratories, a library, reading and assembly halls, meeting rooms, and offices for administration and faculty. The design and construction of the building, which is designed in accordance with the modern university concept, were carried out taking into account the principles of sustainable development, inclusivity, and efficient use of resources. The building has all the necessary infrastructure to ensure more effective educational, research, and administrative activities.

The created conditions will contribute to strengthening the scientific and pedagogical potential of the faculty, developing students' knowledge and skills, training highly qualified specialists in economics and business who meet the rapidly changing requirements of the labor market, and expanding research and innovation activities.

The commissioning of the new educational building of the Faculty of Business and Economics is one of the important steps in forming a modern university campus. It also makes a significant contribution to creating a high-level ecosystem of higher education in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.

It should be noted that President Ilham Aliyev visited Karabakh University in 2024-2025 to familiarize himself with the work done. The head of state participated in the opening of the university's academic building, student dormitory, clinic building, and the academic building of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and Health Sciences.

Currently, 2,154 students are studying in 27 specialties across 6 faculties at Karabakh University.
