The body of the ship captain who died in a drone attack near Odessa has been sent to Azerbaijan
The body of Samed Nasrullayev, captain of the civilian merchant vessel Atlas Bey, who was killed in a drone attack off the coast of Odessa, has been sent to Azerbaijan.
BAKU.WS reports this with reference to the press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the information, as part of the relevant consular measures and coordination efforts carried out by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, the body was sent to the homeland on July 17.
The ministry once again expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
It should be recalled that on July 14, the civilian merchant vessel Atlas Bey, owned by the Turkish company Okean Maritime, was attacked by a drone off the coast of Odessa. There were 11 citizens of Azerbaijan on board the vessel, one of whom, the ship's captain, was killed. With the assistance of the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Kyiv, on July 15, the 10 evacuated citizens of Azerbaijan were sent home via Moldova. A day later, on July 16, the body of S. Nasrullayev was found and delivered to Odessa.
