The 4th meeting of the Chairs of Judicial Councils of the OTS member states was held in Samarkand
The 4th meeting of the Chairpersons of the Judicial Councils of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in the city of Samarkand on May 21–22, 2026.
Report was informed about this by the Supreme Court.
It is reported that the event was held in accordance with the decision adopted at the 3rd meeting of the Chairpersons of the Judicial Councils of the OTS member states, which took place last year in Baku.
At the event, Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court and the Judicial-Legal Council, Inam Karimov. The meeting was also attended by the heads of the supreme bodies responsible for judicial administration from Uzbekistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Speaking at the meeting, Inam Karimov noted that in the modern period, judicial systems face new challenges such as digitalization, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies, and the strengthening of institutional sustainability. In this regard, the importance of further expanding mutual exchange of experience and cooperation between the judicial councils of the OTS member states was emphasized. During the speech, information was also presented on the judicial-legal reforms being carried out in Azerbaijan.
At the conclusion of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding on judicial ethics was signed between the Judicial Councils of the member states of the organization.
During the visit, Inam Karimov also held a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kholmumin Yodgorov.
