Shahbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan for support and solidarity

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the brotherly Azerbaijani people for their unwavering support and solidarity with the Pakistani people.

At our country's embassy in Pakistan, the politician stated this during a meeting with Azerbaijan's Ambassador Khazar Farhadov in Islamabad.

According to him, the position of brotherly Azerbaijan is a manifestation of the strong friendship and brotherhood between the two peoples. Shahbaz Sharif also expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan and noted that the historic visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan in July last year gave a new impetus to cooperation in the areas of economy, trade and investment.

Recalling his February visit to Baku, Shahbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan's intention to elevate the brotherly relations with Azerbaijan to the level of mutually beneficial economic partnership. The head of government, among other things, declared Pakistan's resolute readiness to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of any aggression.

Ambassador Khazar Farhadov, in turn, noted that Azerbaijan and Pakistan will continue to support each other as friendly and brotherly countries. The diplomat added that President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to brotherly relations with Pakistan and these ties have been rapidly developing in recent years.
