As part of WUF13, a panel discussion titled "Baku Master Plan 2040: A New Stage in Urban Development" was held, where key directions for the future development of the capital of Azerbaijan were discussed.

As reported by BAKU.WS, Riyad Gasimov, Head of the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of Baku under the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, stated that Baku is being shaped in the long term not merely as an expanding megapolis, but as a greener, more inclusive, and internationally competitive global city.

"According to the Master Plan, Baku is envisioned not simply as a growing megapolis, but as a greener, more accessible, sustainable, and competitive global city," he emphasized.

According to Riyad Gasimov, under the plan, the priority directions include the expansion of park areas, the increase of pedestrian zones, the improvement of access to social services, and the development of public spaces.

In addition, projects such as the expansion of Central Park, the creation of a new waterfront, the development of boulevard areas, and the renovation of neighborhood infrastructure are aimed at transforming Baku into a more livable city.
