On August 24, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, and members of their families visited the Ark Fortress in the city of Bukhara.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the Ark Fortress was erected in the 4th century BC. Its current appearance was mainly shaped in the 17th-18th centuries. At the beginning of the 20th century, the fortress was used as the winter residence of the rulers of Bukhara. Currently, the fortress covers an area of 4 hectares. Most of the fortress was destroyed in 1920. Since 1947, the Bukhara State Museum-Reserve has been operating on its territory.
