President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation composed of heads of member institutions of the Arab Coordination Group

On June 18, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation composed of heads of member institutions of the Arab Coordination Group.

As reported by AZERTAC, the delegation included Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Jasser, President of the OPEC Fund for International Development Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa Abdullah Khalil Al-Musaibih, Director General and Chairman of the Board of the Arab Monetary Fund Fahad Alturki, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, Executive Director of the Gulf Development Program Hammam bin Nasser bin Juraid, Director of Operations of the Kuwait Arab Fund for Economic Development Tamer Al-Failakawi, Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed ibn Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance of the State of Kuwait Yaqoub Al-Rifai, Minister of Finance of the State of Qatar Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, and Deputy Minister for International Financial Relations of the Ministry of Finance of the United Arab Emirates Ali Abdullah Al-Sharafi.

The head of state noted the importance of the participation of heads of member institutions of the Arab Coordination Group in the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group for 2026.

Highlighting the active cooperation of Azerbaijan with member institutions of the Arab Coordination Group, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that many projects are at the implementation stage. The head of state also touched upon the significance of the documents planned for signing.

Expressing satisfaction with the visit to our country, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Jasser thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the reception on behalf of the delegation.

The guest highly appreciated the support provided by the head of state for expanding cooperation between the institution he leads and Azerbaijan.

During the conversation, the existence of good opportunities for expanding partnership between Azerbaijan and member institutions of the Arab Coordination Group was emphasized, and the importance of the favorable investment environment created in our country in terms of implementing joint projects with member institutions of the Arab Coordination Group was noted.

Following the meeting, a Loan Agreement for the construction project of the new Sumgayit Wastewater Treatment Plant was signed with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan. An exchange of the signed "Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan, and members of the Arab Coordination Group on expanding cooperation on the project for the construction of water supply and sewage systems for 33 settlements on the Absheron Peninsula" also took place.

The head of state then presented the "Dostlug" order to Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Jasser.

Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Jasser expressed gratitude to the head of state for the high appreciation of his activities.

It should be noted that Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Jasser was awarded this order pursuant to a decree by President Ilham Aliyev for his contribution to the development of cooperation between our country and the Islamic Development Bank.
