President Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of a new park in Baku

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of a new park created in the area known as "Antenna" near Ganjlik metro station in Baku.

As Baku.ws reports with reference to AZERTAC, the head of Baku City Executive Authority, Eldar Azizov, provided detailed information about the facilities created in the new park.

The modernization and improvement works in our capital continue in parallel with the creation of green areas and parks. Another such recreation area is the new park in Narimanov district, near Ganjlik metro station, at the intersection of Vagif Avenue, Jeyhun Hajibeyli, Shamsi Rahimov, and Nasib bey Yusifbeyli streets, established according to the orders of the President of Azerbaijan dated August 18, 2023, and January 13, 2024.

The head of state and the first lady familiarized themselves with the conditions created in the park.

In this area, known as the "Antenna" site, dilapidated buildings were demolished. After the demolition works, the park area expanded to 19 hectares. The historical administrative building located on the park territory has been preserved and underwent restoration work.

In the new park, excellent conditions have been created in a short time for the effective organization of leisure for residents and city guests. Two modern restaurants have been built here, and a fountain has been constructed, which adds beauty to the park territory.

In the modern recreational complex covering 14 hectares, green areas have been laid out, and more than 20,000 trees and shrubs have been planted. The park is equipped with an automatic irrigation system, water and fire-fighting reservoirs, a pump station, and surveillance cameras. The lighting system, created based on a new project, also meets the most modern standards. The park features pedestrian and bicycle paths, a children's playground, and a sports area equipped with modern outdoor exercise equipment.

An underground passage has also been built connecting the new park with the nearby "Dede Gorgud" park. This creates conditions for safe and comfortable movement of residents.

In recent years, improvement and reconstruction works have gained wide scope in all regions of Azerbaijan, including Baku. New parks and numerous green areas have been created for organizing comfortable recreation for people, while existing parks and alleys have been thoroughly reconstructed. The implementation of these projects not only changes the appearance of Baku and the regions but also plays an important role in improving the country's ecological situation.

The new park adds additional beauty to the capital while being important for increasing the area of green spaces in the city and creating conditions for effective organization of people's leisure time.
