President Ilham Aliyev: I do not recall such rain in May, at least in Baku

I don't recall such rain in May, at least not in Baku. People older than me probably don't remember it either. This unfortunately sometimes leads to negative consequences. But on the other hand, it also significantly increases our water resources, and the water accumulated today in reservoirs will allow us to avoid problems with agricultural water supply this year.

This was stated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at a meeting dedicated to agricultural issues.

"The issue of rational land use. The goal here is to maximize crop yields and conduct precise soil analysis to determine which crop is more practical to grow in a specific area or land plot. Of course, zoning issues are very important here. But I know that in some cases, even within a single district, soil quality varies across different plots. Therefore, it would be wrong to say that only this crop should be grown in a particular region, and not others.

Of course, precise analysis of any plot should be carried out using its electronic version, various verification methods, new technologies, including artificial intelligence, satellite capabilities, and field research. The country's territory is not that large. Therefore, it will not be difficult to do this. Certain work has already been done. However, every plot of land suitable for sowing should have, as they say, its own passport," the head of state added.
