Political scientist: The hands of Ramiz Mehdiyev are stained with the blood of more than 50 people
The damage inflicted by Ramiz Mehdiyev on Azerbaijan is colossal. Criminal proceedings should be initiated against him not only under three articles of the Criminal Code but also under Article 16 of the National Security Concept. Because he also undermined the country's political security.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Yeni Sabah, political analyst Jumshud Nuriyev stated this.
According to him, the majority of those who are now criticizing Ramiz Mehdiyev were appointed to their positions thanks to him at the time.
"I feel sorry for Ramiz Mehdiyev. He is promoting the idea of creating a 'state council' in Azerbaijan, which is a presidential republic. This is an attempt to establish a dictatorship," said the political analyst.
The political analyst emphasized that Ramiz Mehdiyev tried to form an autocratic regime in Azerbaijan: "Ramiz Mehdiyev was the head of the Presidential Administration for a long time. He and those who are now criticizing him once declared a 'crusade' against us. We were called the 'opposition.' Later it became clear that the real opposition was precisely Ramiz Mehdiyev and his entourage. We were not against the state, but against Ramiz Mehdiyev. The real opponent of the state is Ramiz Mehdiyev himself. The man creates a 'state council' of 50 people and re-elects the parliament for 7 years, forming a state to suit himself. This means that a completely new autocratic regime should be formed in Azerbaijan, and this 'Old Wolf' should stand at the head. Take a careful look at his letter to Russia. All the positions put forward there are identical to what Ganimat Zahid, Gurban Mammadov, Tural Sadigli, and other persons criticizing Azerbaijan from abroad are saying. This means that these people are certainly propagandists of Ramiz Mehdiyev."
Nuriyev noted that in Azerbaijan, the "fifth column" is much deeper: "Ramiz Mehdiyev destroyed the lives of me and about 100 others like me. We were completely removed from everywhere. The course of events shows that in Azerbaijan, the 'fifth column' lies much deeper. If earlier they talked about 800 personnel supposedly placed by Ramiz Mehdiyev, now we're talking about more than two thousand. Identifying such a number of people will take a long time. If they're looking for the 'fifth column,' let them look at the parliament. Some of them exposed themselves by hastily displaying themselves. If I'm not mistaken, about 40 deputies in the Milli Mejlis were elected with his direct blessing. Among the ministers in the government and their deputies, there are also such people. There are quite a few heads of executive power, police chiefs, prosecutors, and judges who were directly appointed by Ramiz Mehdiyev. They are all Ramiz Mehdiyev's people. For 30 years, Ramiz Mehdiyev has been oppressing us. His hands are stained with the blood of more than 50 people."
It should be noted that earlier, a letter from the former head of the Presidential Administration and the National Academy of Sciences, Ramiz Mehdiyev, sent to certain circles in Russia regarding a coup plan, became public knowledge. According to the text of the letter, he proposed transferring control over the activities of the three branches of government in the country - legislative, executive, and judicial - to a special body called the "State Council."
The letter notes that the "State Council" should consist of 50 people, and these members should be selected from experienced statesmen, economists, lawyers, representatives of science and culture. Who these 50 people are is unknown.
